Stay ahead of the competition during the festive season with Click & Collect

Growth Secrets|06.10.2016

As peak season approaches, e-commerce managers across all industries will be ensuring they have the requisite product range and optimum user experience in place to capitalize in an increasingly competitive market.

This year, the forward-thinking amongst them will focus on delivery options, ensuring they meet their customers' heightened expectations of convenience.

Some will look at offering delivery options such as Same Day Delivery or Anytime/Slot Delivery - but the savviest will utilize Click & Collect to drive their conversions and repeat business this Christmas.

A Click & Collect option, either via in-store pick-up or through a network of Collect Points, allows customers to send their items to a location convenient for them. Customers can pick up where they want, when they want, and avoid missing deliveries.

The number of Click & Collect items rose in 2014 to 91.5m and is set to rise again next year to 161m. For John Lewis, Next & Halfords, their percentage of Click & Collect-delivered online sales is already over 50% and is set to grow again this year.

Click & Collect has become a mainstream fulfillment option due entirely to the convenience and control it offers customers.

Yet, despite this rising popularity, Click & Collect is offered by only 26% of online retailers. The common perception within e-commerce is that Click & Collect remains a solution exclusively limited to retailers with brick and mortar locations, or by retailers using a delivery provider with its own collect point network.

Until now…

2016 has seen the emergence of a handful of companies operating a nationwide network of Click & Collect Points with software integration for online retailers of all sizes. Small and medium-sized retailers across all platforms are now able to offer customers greater delivery choice, without changing any of their existing shipping channels.

One company providing this type of solution is HubBox

HubBox was one of the first companies to offer full Click & Collect integration to Shopify and Magento retailers.

With a network of over 1000 Collect Points, and the ability to offer a simple, customizable checkout solution via their in-house technology team, HubBox has been a popular solution amongst retailers of all sizes.

With “hyper-local” delivery set to become the overwhelming trend within e-commerce this year, meeting customer expectations of delivery will be an important factor in the success of many businesses this Christmas.

For e-commerce managers in competitive markets, integrating a Click & Collect network is now easier than ever and will ensure delivery remains a strong element of their brand proposition this Christmas.
