2016 was the year Bootea exploded into the dietary and lifestyle scene. A cleverly marketed detox tea and one of the most successful Instagram marketers we have ever seen. They’d achieved great success using a basic template-based website and came to us to build something custom to take their website to the next level.

The challenge

Bootea felt that their old site was holding them back, they wanted more from their online offering and came to us looking for a fresh new store. Bootea burst on to the scene, and with a product with exponential, fast-paced growth, their store needed to handle the pressure. Their old Shopify store had multiple features bolted on to help handle the stream of customers, but in time had become disjointed. Time for a revamp.

A complete design overhaul

We took the opportunity to start from scratch and build an all-new, totally custom Shopify theme. Big, bold imagery, simply product photography and inclusion of the Bootea lifestyle brand photography that populates their Instagram commands a consistent on-brand design throughout.

Built to convert

We introduced several new features into the store to improve conversions. Adding clear USPs coupled with delivery info - with countdown timer to encourage people to buy now - pushes customers towards the checkout and creates urgency. We dramatically improved their product page design and included much need social proof popups, streamlining and verifying the checkout process.

Miles better on mobile

One of the biggest areas of improvement was the Bootea customer mobile experience. We streamlined the navigation, opting for a slim non-intrusive sticky header, focusing on the ‘Next Day Delivery’ urgency images, key for converting customers quickly. Each page is designed for optimised mobile viewing and an easy to navigate slide out menu smooths the mobile checkout journey.

The result

The new Bootea website is a big leap forward. It’s contributed to a significant increase in conversions and a reduction in bounce rates across the board. The introduction of urgency factors and the social proof pop up of recently purchased products, not only increased their conversions, but is also in line with the energetic feel of their brand.
